I had to stop mid way and rate this place. So good! Every time I get a chance to come to Philly, I get this plate (Turkey wings, mashed potatoes, green beans with a side of Mac and Cheese). It really makes you do the happy dance while you're eating. 10 stars!!
Those turkey wings though perfectly seasoned to the bone... also had the mash & gravy, mac &cheese and the string beans... man oh man how I'm so satisfied and I'm a very picky eater... I'll give them two thumbs and toes up!!!
I ordered my food before I read these reviews so I was nervous. A lot of the reviews were bad. I haven't had Vernie's in quite a few years so I was hoping the quality of the food hadn't changed.The turkey wings were tender and seasoned well. The yams were ok. They just needed a little more brown sugar and the potato salad was tasty. I'll order again.
